| Jamie Chisolm Named 2009 Small Business Banker of the Year |
The SBAC presented Jamie Chisolm, The Heritage Bank, with the 2009 Small Business Banker of the Year award for his efforts to create access to capital for small business owners. For the fiscal year 2009, he utilized four different SBAC loan programs to assist small businesses in obtaining over $4.8 million in funding for business expansions as well as start-ups. |

| Digitus Biometrics Receives 2009 Michael Bunn Rising Star Award

In August of 2008, Claude Galipeault and Christopher Marsden, owners of Digitus Biometrics, approached SBAC for funds to replenish their inventory of their access control panels. The business was heating up and the orders were on the verge of wiping out the inventory on hand. Through the use of City of Savannah loan programs, the SBAC was able to turn the loan request around in less than two weeks, allowing an additional fifty units to be built. Read More... |
SBAC Presents SCORE with 2009 Small Business Advocate Award

The SBAC awarded the Savannah Chapter of SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business, with the 2009 Small Business Advocate Award at its Annual Meeting Luncheon December 2nd.
SBAC and SCORE have developed a strong partnership to offer technical assistance to clients receiving a SBA Microloan. Each business owner is assigned a personal SCORE counselor who meets regularly with them to address concerns and to ensure that they are in compliance with SBAC requirements. The SCORE counselor provides continuous sound advice to help entrepreneurs overcome the multiple pitfalls that they encounter on a daily basis.
