This is the monthly newsletter from the the Energy Emporium of Enfield and Clear Mountain Solar of Claremont, NH.

NH is finalizing its solar hot water rebate program -- $1250 will be the typical rebate -- if you've been thinking about heating your domestic water with the sun, ask us for a quote now!

The start of spring brings home shows, green building shows and energy fairs. Some are listed below.

Upcoming Events

The Sullivan County Home and Trade Expo in Claremont is this weekend -- March 20-21, Saturday and Sunday 10am - 5pm at the Claremont Middle School, South Steet.

Next weekend, March 26-28, is the Upper Valley Home Life Show, Friday 2pm-9pm, Saturday 10am-9pm, and Sunday 10am-4pm -- Leverone Field house in Hanover, NH.

Earth Hour: Next Saturday, March 27, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm -- turn off your lights and find ways to save energy. Learn more at: myearthhour.org

NH Solar Hot Water Rebate
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many states revise, update or find new funding for programs at the start of the year. NH is no exception and we are excited to see that they are implementing a solar hot water rebate program.

Starting in April most solar hot water systems will qualify for $500 rebate; and with a bit of extra paperwork and research you may be eligible for another $750. This is in addition to the 30% tax credit from the federal government. A $9,000 solar hot water system may only cost you $5,050!

In the last month we charged up the solar collector and started heating up the in-ground storage tank. All summer we will heat up the tank... all winter we will live off its warmth!
