LAGLCC Weekly E-Blast
May 26, 2009
The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (LAGLCC) supports the efforts from the No on Prop 8 campaigns.  Although the California Supreme Court did not overturn Prop 8, we must continue to promote and command a powerful LGBT business economy.

We are in an LGBT revolution right now, and we are fighting for our rights and fighting to be respected as business professionals.  Living in the second largest city in America, equates to immense spending power, as there is a huge LGBT population here in Southern California.  We must unite and funnel our spending power amongst LGBT owned businesses and our allies. By becoming a member of the LAGLCC and identifying LGBT businesses and those supporting the LGBT community rights, we can help impact numerous political and activist causes. The LGBT economic power will grow through the LAGLCC.

It is critical to recruit a broad range of demographic groups and organizations to get involved.  The LAGLCC can shape a diverse network of individual professionals, non-profit organizations, and corporate businesses who are all now doing business with each other and keeping the gay dollar strong within our community. The stronger the connections between LGBT professionals and allies, the more influential we will be as a community.

This will be the start of the LGBT economic equality business campaign. Gays need to start doing business with gays and LGBT allies! Spend your business and personal dollars within the LGBT and allied communities, and equal rights will be ours, sooner than you think!

Stay tuned for more information on our "Economic Equality Business Campaign"

If you or someone you know is not a member of the LAGLCC, click here to become one.  Together we will strengthen the LGBT business community!
