This month the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued an official notice granting RCI FirstPathway Partners its fastest I-526 (Immigrant Petition by Alien Entrepreneur) approval.
The application, filled September 23rd of 2009, was approved 3 months and 14 days after submission, with no Request for Evidence (RFE). According to the USCIS website, the average I-526 processing time is currently 5 months.

In 2009 the number of EB-5 investment visas nearly tripled in comparison to the past fiscal year. According to the State Department EB-5 visas swelled from 1,443 in 2008 to 4,218 in 2009 (figures include primary applicants and their families). Experts cite the recession, improvement in U.S. government processing, and increased publicity through press coverage, agents and marketing, as possible reasons for this dramatic increase.
Country of Origin
This year virtually 70 percent of all investor visas were issued to Chinese and South Korean families, with 1,979 and 903 visas respectively. With many Chinese and South Koreans facing waits as long a decade for other classes of visas, EB5 is in most cases the fastest route to citizenship.
Regional Centers
Over the past fiscal year the number of Regional Centers (RC) also grew dramatically, increasing from approximately 23 to over 74. This increase can likely be attributed to added awareness and frozen credit markets.
