Milwaukee Donates Fire Engine to Sister City

On Monday June 29th Milwaukee donated a fire engine to its sister city in Tanzania, Morogoro, a country on Africa's southeast coast. Milwaukee become Morogoro's a sister city in 2007.  The Milwaukee fire engine, retired last year, will become 1 of 2 fire engines in the city of Morogoro.

This gift is much needed by the people of Morogoro. Currently Morogoro has half the population of Milwaukee yet averages about nine times as many fire related fatalities.

Dan Meehan, Executive Director and Co-founder of the Hope for Tanzania Foundation, will pay to ship Milwaukee's gift from the Port of New York to Tanzania.
