In a study of 98 major metropolitan areas, Milwaukee was the only large city to see an increase in jobs within its urban center, According to a Brookings Institute Study released yesterday. The study surveyed jobs within a 10 mile radius of major metropolitan downtowns between 1998-2006. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett cited the accessibility and affordability of doing business in the metro area, as factors. He also emphasized the opportunities to grow existing businesses in TEA areas such as the Menomonee Valley.
