Network Healing Arts March 2009
Greetings!

A blast of Spring has come upon us. My favorite time of year when the water is frozen on top of the creek or waterfall but moving below. This reminds me of the parts of us that are waiting for the right moment to blossom.
For a seed to germinate we need water and great soil. Water is something that comes in waves through thoughts, feelings, and actions. Soil is a long term investment that gets us through life by building on our strength and having reserves for lean times.
Then there is timing, the seed knows the right time and temperature to germinate. It moves up through the darkness into the light without knowing for sure if the light is really there. Here comes trust and faith, when combined with timing and proper soil even a blade of grass can push through the concrete.
Prepare for Spring NOW.

Ayurvedic Recipe
Ayurvedic Recipe: Red Lentil Soup
Dr. Josh

1 c dry red lentils
6 c water
1 T sunflower oil or ghee
1/2 t black mustard seeds
1/4 green pepper, chopped (optional)
1 1/2 t sea salt
2 t coriander powder
3 T lemon juice
2 T barley malt
1 T fresh ginger root, chopped
Wash lentils. Cook in a pressure cooker with 3 cups of water until soft (about 10 minutes). If pressure cooker is not available, soak lentils for one hour, drain, and cook with 4 cups of water for about 30 minutes.
In a small frying pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. When they pop, add turmeric. Combine with cooked lentils in the open pressure cooker or large pot. Add 3 cups of water and the remaining ingredients. Cook for an additional 10 minutes over medium heat.
