Spring into Spring
Greetings! Wow what a time I had this Sunday. I took my 2 year skiing. Yes we had been down the bunny hill many times on six different occasions, which I had to carry him up. This time we started on the bunny on the T-bar and then after lunch we went up on the chair lift at Song Mountain. He skied from top to bottom twice without stopping, with a harness to be safe. What I learned from this is that we learn from experience. He learned how to stop and turn and control his speed by feeling it out in a safe environment. I say it still goes for us adults, truth can only be experienced. When we have an experience we can only explain the experience with others who have had the same experience or some other kind of peak experience. This month do something new, don't try something new. Maybe a yoga or meditation class, sitting silently for a few minutes, not eating or talking for half a day, or learn something new. Reach outside your little box and experience what life has to offer, this can be safe and even free, maybe even freeing. Our brain loves new things, though the challenge sometimes is to walk down the same path, and experience something different in each moment. Awareness is the first, see something new in the mundane by being still and empty when you approach it. 1)Take a few minutes each day and be silent just for a few minutes. Open your eyes slowly and feel the experience. 2)To quiet the mind, sing, dance, jump rope, and then sit or stand very still. 3)Walk the same path through the woods or a park each day and notice the change, in you and or outside of you. 4)Don't try to have the same experience each time, be fresh.
Experience the newness in life in each monment
