Greenbing Head-shot Greetings!

This article concerns the fate of the Estate Tax in 2010 and beyond.  As you probably know, it is currently slated to go away entirely for that one year.

Instead, it looks like the Democrats will be pressing for it to remain at the level it's at right now - a tax of 45% applied to estate assets that exceed $3.5 million per person or $7 million per couple (assuming that couple has a properly drafted A B Trust arrangement).

I hope you find this Alert to be both timely and useful.

We stand ready to serve you!

                                    Sincerely,

Obama Plans to Keep Estate Tax
From the Wall Street Journal,

"Democrats Want to Freeze Levy at Current Levels Instead of Letting It Expire Next Year

By JONATHAN WEISMAN
President-elect Barack Obama and congressional leaders plan to move soon to block the estate tax from disappearing in 2010, suggesting the levy might outlive the "Death Tax Repeal" movement that has tried mightily to kill it..."
