Prayer Update, April 21 2011

A prayer for Easter

'
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.'

John 10: 28-30

'But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.'

I Corinthians 15: 20-22

'Faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see.'

Hebrews 11:1

Dear friends,

Prayers for a peaceful Easter

Last week, I asked if, during the coming months, you might reflect upon and pray for several aspects of our ministry at FRRME, including the possible expansion of St George's Clinic, and our reconciliation work.

Please do continue to pray.

This Easter weekend, I'd simply like to ask that you remember the congregation at St George's Church, Baghdad, in your prayers.

Please pray they have a peace-filled, blessed Easter.  Pray that St George's will see wonderful, God-filled celebrations.  Please pray for Andrew and Faiz, who will lead the St George's Easter services.

Please also pray for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one, those who are facing their first Easter alone. For those who have lost their husband or wife,  for those children who have lost a parent.

Pray that, this Easter, St George's will be a place of spiritual refuge, of friendship, community and joy for all.

Have a truly blessed Easter.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers.

If you have a prayer for our work which you'd like to share,  I'd love to hear from you.

Every blessing
