A prayer for our friends
'So wake up, and strengthen what you still have before it dies completely..'
Dear friends,
These last weeks we have spent much time praying for our Copenhagen Summit, for its preparations and outcomes. I ask you to continue in that prayer, that we will witness the ongoing fruits of the gathering. St George's
But this week, let us pray especially for our brothers and sisters at St George's Church. Let us pray first and foremost for their protection. They continue to face significant danger, every day. Please pray that they would know God's presence and serenity in these difficult days. May they be assured of your eternal love in these uncertain times. Pray that they feel hope for the future.
Pray for them as they worship today, tomorrow and on Sunday. May they feel the joy of having God with them in Baghdad. Please ask for their protection as they journey to and from church, in their homes, and as they go about their daily lives.
May we pray too for our friends at St George's and for Christians throughout Iraq, as they face the decision over whether to stay in the country, or flee, as so many have now done.
We pray too for St George's lay pastor, Faiz, as he continues in his theological studies. May he also know God's presence with him, in the significant danger he faces as he continues his work at St George's. Please do pray also for his wife, Nawal, in her efforts leading the vital work of the Mother's Union at St George's. Please remember in your prayers the whole team at St George's, who face great danger as they seek to support their fellow Christians and the local community. And finally, please pray for Andrew. Pray for his work, for his health and that he continues to find joy in the people and place he loves.
Thank you. If you have a prayer for our work which you'd like to share, I'd love to hear from you. Email me at jenny@frrme.org Every blessing to you.
