Dear Friends,
|
Greetings from
Baghdad. It's great to be back, but it was a little disappointing that my time
in the UK was cut short. I had to return early to participate with the Chilcot
Inquiry. It is difficult when I only get to see family for such a short time,
but this meeting was of utmost importance.
The Inquiry I had a very helpful time yesterday with the inquiry team. We were able to talk
openly and honestly about the situation here. It was far more preferable than
meeting in London, our time was not rushed at all. The discussions could not
have gone better. This morning one of the team phoned to say he would like to
make a donation for our work. This was quite remarkable and profound that there
was a desire to help what we are doing here.
The work continues As usual there is a much to be done with both the inter-religious work and St.
George's - clinic and church. We are so grateful to the Danish Embassy for
providing us with a huge number of helpful products, as they have downsized
their team and moved office to the British Embassy. They even provided 20
computers, along with lots of other electrical equipment from photocopiers to
lamps.
The workload continues to be massive and seems to increase daily. Sometimes the
small things just seem to add up. For example, today our dental drill is not
working so there is a major repair job going on!
The churches we visited last weekend, Chiswick Christian Centre and
Sidcup New Generation, were both wonderful and hugely blessed our work. For
that, we are so grateful.
With grace, peace and blessings,
The Rev'd Canon Andrew White
