Dear Friends,
|
Greetings and
Blessings from Baghdad. The big day is finally upon us. We are all very active
preparing for the ordination of Faiz on Sunday. I had to call a
staff meeting yesterday to tell the staff that they must stop phoning him, as
he is on retreat. I hope this will happen. Tomorrow the bishop and Archdeacon
will arrive as well as five other people from our large Diocese of Cyprus and
the Gulf. This week has not been easy. Much of our equipment was blown out in the
huge power surge last Friday. All that was damaged mainly happened within the
church building. So much of what was needed for the ordination was put out of
use. We have struggled at great cost to get things working again for Sunday. We
trust and pray that we have enough funds and that this will be a very special
event.
This week has once again been spent doing political, diplomatic and religious
work. As usual there has been much media work, but this time it has all been
with the Japanese NHK - the equivalent of their BBC.
In addition to all this I have had my stem-cell treatment. It is working so
well apart from my balance, which continues to be less than ideal. In closing I
simply ask that you pray for us in all of our activities and especially for
Faiz, his ministry, family and ordination.
