Canon Andrew White writes...

Good Friday and Easter Sunday
3rd April 2010
Dear Friends,

Here in Iraq was the Garden of Eden. Here the history of salvation began with Abraham. Here prophecy took place with Ezekiel. Here the greatest evangelist came in the miserable Jonah. Here Daniel came and saw the glory of G-d. Here Jesus first appeared in the fire with Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego, and then again in Daniel chapter 10 over the Tigris. In Ezekiel chapter 43 we see that the glory will come back to Jerusalem from the East - where is the East?

Iraq

Why am I here?

I committed my life to Israel and ended up in Iraq. I believe that G-d has sent me here because this is where the world will end. It began here and I believe it will end here. G-d's Glory will return to Jerusalem from here and the Lord Jesus will return there. I believe Babylon is here and will be here. When the Bible mentions places they are real, and I believe Babylon is the real Babylon, just 70 miles from where I write this to you.

I have seen the glory of G-d here like I have never seen it in Jerusalem. G-d's glory is here but it will return to Jerusalem. We see angels all the time people are healed, raised from the dead. It is so glorious and nobody knows. We are surrounded by wheels within wheels, just as Ezekiel saw. We see them all the time and they even show up on pictures.

Isa 19:23
23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. 24 In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. 25 The LORD Almighty will bless them, saying, "Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance."

Assyria is of course Iraq. As we say at the beginning of each service: Allah hu ma anna. "The Lord is here and his spirit is with."

On Good Friday, we the followers of Jesus from around the world, go with Him to Jerusalem. We go to watch him suffer and die. There He dies for us so that we may be free and one with him.

We began on Thursday night with a solemn service of the last supper. We stripped the altar and the Church of all adornments. Many of our people stayed in church all night praying. Here all the people are wearing black for today as a day of immense mourning. From Thursday until Resurrection Day we all fast and then we will remember; we are an Easter people and our song is Alleluia.

We did not work on Good Friday or answer phones, so there could be no communication.

With every Blessing at this Holy time,

Andrew White

Running the Race
A huge "thank you" to all of those who have been able to sponsor FRRME Director Peter Marsden's extreme feat of endurance.

He returned to his desk on Monday with a slight limp, but a huge grin, apt for his sense of achievement, after running three back to back marathons for FRRME last weekend.

If you feel compelled to give, your support is still very welcome.

Verse of the Week
Hebrews 12v2
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
