Channel Move
As of July 3rd, Access Tucson programming is seen on one channel only. This new channel is 20 on Cox / 74 on Comcast.

This change is in accordance with AZ State law (9-506), the City of Tucson (licensing authority) can only require Cox Communications (cable company) to carry two digital PEG channels and two analog PEG channels in exchange for using the public rights of way. TUSD and Tucson Fire and Safety are the digital channels and Tucson 12 and Access Tucson are the analog channels.
Programming Changes
We are very conscious of creating a balance of programming that serves producers, non-profit organizations, viewers and underwriters. The primary goal of the channel continues to be our mission of free speech and local expression. With sustainability in mind, we also hope to increase revenue through underwriting, become more viewer friendly and create better quality programs by spending more time on planning and the production process.
One way of achieving these goals is to incorporate block programming into the schedule. These blocks are 2-4 hours long. The categories or subjects of the blocks include Religious/Spiritual, Youth, Live Call-in, Spanish language (non-religious), Music, Arts & Culture and Politics. The blocks of like programming provide many promotional and underwriting opportunities.
Please contact Vikki Dempsey at 520-624-9833 x126 or vikkid@accesstucson.org if you have any questions.
