Presented as part of our FSTV documentary series, Before Stonewall investigates the 1969 police raid on the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City's Greenwich Village, leading to three nights of rioting by the city's gay community. With this outpouring of courage and unity the Gay Liberation Movement had begun. Before Stonewall pries open the closet door--setting free the dramatic story of the sometimes horrifying public and private existences experienced by gay and lesbian Americans since the 1920s. Narrated by author Rita Mae Brown.

steve lealSteve Leal is roasted and toasted by many friends for his 20 years of dedicated service on the Tucson City Council.  He was a tireless fighter for Access Tucson and planted the seeds for the future development of a community media center.  We wish Steve all the best.  We know he will continue to be a positive force in the community.

We welcome new council members Richard Fimbres and Steve Kozachik.  Watch for their March appearances on Local Matters.
