Thanks and giving
|
This month marks an important holiday for people that were born with a slow metabolic rate and an increased appetite. The tendency for feasting is traditional and tempting.
Tips for maintaining on track might include the following:
1). focus on solids, like turkey, carrots, thick wheat bread and savor the smaller portions. 2). anticipate the temptation for sweets and prepare or buy sugar-free and low-fat cookies or snacks. 3). avoid stress--be thankful for the unique emotional, intellectual, and social talents and attributes that makes you special and wonderful in God's eye. 4). avoid stress--by actively thinking about giving to others, either in the form of emotional support, encouragement, caring, or simple courtesy. Small acts of kindness can mean so much to the giver and the receiver.
