CYMA BUILDERS COMPLETE ISOGEN RENOVATION
|
Cyma Builders and Construction Managers recently completed a successful collaboration with Isogen,LLC building a new Isogen Science Center. The project consisted of renovating an existing research laboratory in Newark Delaware, into a commissioned Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility. The facility houses clean rooms, laboratory support facilities, administration offices and conference rooms.
"Cyma Builders was a critical resource for our group and a real team player from design development through project completion. They delivered a great product," said Austin Mc Donald, COO Isogen LLC.
The project scope included demolition of existing interior wall partitions and finishes, renovation of existing mechanical and electrical systems, site work modifications and installation of new loading dock and roadway. Mechanical infrastructure upgrades included a new process chiller, clean room air handler, pure water generation plant and clean steam generation skid. An upgraded Building Automation System was installed to replace the existing antiquated system and communicates back to a central site wide monitoring system. The existing electrical systems were modified and upgraded to accommodate increased loads to the facility and a new fire alarm system was installed to replace outdated equipment. Existing lab casework was removed off site and refinished, existing fume hoods were reconditioned and certified. An all new upgraded fire alarm and security system was installed including card readers and electronic locking system. New clean room modules were constructed with misting shower and epoxy floor finishes along with new supply and exhaust ductwork. The interior fit out of the administration offices included upgraded restroom facilities, new telecommunication and data communication systems, glass wall systems, tray ceiling, wall mural and wall and floor finishes.
The project was a fast track project for a start up company and a defined time line which had construction being completed in 22 weeks with equipment commissioning running concurrently with systems start-up. The team achieved the goals, met all expectations and delivered a quality product to Isogen, LLC.
