Relief for Allergy Symptoms |
If you have environmental or seasonal allergies that don't respond to commercially available medications, or if your medication causes side effects, let us know. We can work with your doctor and help to solve your problem by compounding an oral or topical preparation containing the most appropriate medication or combination of medications to meet your specific needs. For example, we can compound combinations of antihistamines to stop the allergic response; anticholinergics to reduce secretions; decongestants to relieve the discomfort of congestion; and novel ingredients such as tranilast, which has been shown to stabilize mast cells. Topical medications are absorbed through the skin and therefore produce fewer systemic side effects, and can work quickly to stop a local skin reaction to an allergy.
Seasonal allergies can also be helped with certain supplements and dietary modifications. Ask our pharmacist for more information.
