| When to turn in your tags to the DMV
How to avoid a $50 penalty |
| When you exchange or sell a vehicle and need to turn in your tag, don't make the mistake of canceling the insurance coverage before surrendering your license plate to the nearest DMV. For example, if you put your vehicle in storage or do not plan to operate it for a while, you must surrender the registration plate to your local license plate agency before canceling your liability insurance.
Always turn your plate in FIRST, then cancel your liability insurance to avoid a $50.00 penalty.
North Carolina state law requires you to have liability coverage in effect on your vehicle the entire time it is registered and the plate is in your possession.

I am a huge fan of the Scouting program and I am currently participating in Cub Scouts with my son. Becoming an Eagle Scout was one of the most influential programs of my own life. I firmly believe the Scouting program exceeds most other programs for children and adolescents.
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values- based youth development, organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness.
As a scout earns their badges, they learn about their own community, nation and the world around them. They learn how to lead, how to deal with adversity and how to speak publicly...all important skills to have as they reach adulthood.
As a parent, I feel obligated to give my children the best advantages and teach them skills to be successful in this world. I know how many distractions there are for children today, and that reaching the Eagle Scout level is a lofty goal, but it is one well worth striving for.
