We have seen an increase in theft...Protect yourself....
Be smart....don't encourage a crime!
We have seen a rise in the number of calls related to theft.... break-ins to homes, cars, and businesses. We have seen theft of copper, valuable metals from HVAC units, smash and grabs in cars, and an increase in home break-ins.

Reduce your risk.  Be aware of your surroundings. Park in well-lit crowded areas and don't get squeezed between two vehicles larger than yours.  Lock holiday gifts in the trunk.  Don't leave valuables in your car - keep your portable GPS system out of view. Consider removing the garage door opener.  A fast growing crime is where theives steal the opener, find your address and enter your house. Make copies of the documents you carry in your car and white-out the address and keep the originals at home.   Lock your home doors and windows.  Keep valuable items out of view in your home and cars.

"One Small Step Can Change Your Life:  The Kaizen Way" by Rober Maurer
I found this book's principle to be fairly simple:  think in small steps to achieve big results.  Whether you are trying to lose weight, produce more at work or find a new job, starting with small steps can make big things happen.

One Small Step is the gentle but potent way to effect change.  Beginning by outlining the all-important role that fear plays in all types of change -- and Kaizen's ability to circumvent it -- Dr. Maurer then explains the 7 Small Steps:  How to Think Small Thoughts, Take Small Actions, Solve Small Problems, and more.  He shows how to perform mind sculpture - visualizing change so that real change comes more naturally.  Why small rewards motivate better than big rewards.  How great discoveries are made by paying attention to the little details most of us overlook.
