K-8 Classroom:
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year at PVCS! The K-8 team is looking forward to a great year with all of our wonderful families. Your K-8 teachers are

Classes start the week of

M 5th-6th - 8:30-12:00
M *7th-8th - 12:30-3:30
Tu K-1st - 9:00-12:00
W 2nd-4th - 8:30-12:00
Th K-1st - 9:00-12:00
*Note:Middle School MUSCLE (MSM) is an optional series of classes for 7th-8th graders and will meet on Mondays from 11:30-12:30 prior to the workshop class starting September 12. Students are welcome to bring a sack lunch or purchase a slice of pizza and/or snacks for $1.00 each. Sign up with your Supervisory Teacher.

CAHSEE Math Prep
Attention upperclassmen who need to pass the CAHSEE Math portion! We are offering a CAHSEE Math Prep workshop. Students can earn 2.5 elective credits (it runs as a third class in addition to your two academic courses) for attending the workshop. Come to Math Tutoring the hour before if you need extra help as well.
When: Tues and Thurs 1:30-2:30, starting Aug 23

PE Class, Grades 9-12
When: Mon, Tues, and Thurs 3:00-4:00
starting August 22
Where: PVCS
Who: Grades 9-12
What: Earn PE credit by attending PE class. Mondays are muscle conditioning with light weights. Tuesdays are cardio conditioning which involves running, walking, jumping rope, and more. Thursdays are yoga. Students can enter the class at any time throughout the semester.

Fall Fundraiser
We are asking for your support with our fundraiser. We are excited to offer fine quality products from Midland Direct Fund Raising! They offer 151 items under $10 including: gift wrap, jewelry, kitchen gadgets, flower bulbs, grocery totes, cheese/sausage, nuts and candies. The proceeds will be used to support our school and student activities.
Who: All PVCS families are invited to participate!
Start date: 9/12/11
End date: 10/3/11
Brochures and order forms will be available through your Supervisory Teacher or the front office.
Product Delivery Date: 3-4 weeks after processing.

Ready to Learn, Grades 9-12
High School students can earn 2.5 elective credits while attending RTL Insight and Support Group on Mondays from 9:00-10:30 starting Sept 12 and ending January 9, 2012. Space is limited to the first 15 students with completed paperwork. Sign up with your Supervisory Teacher.

Buena Vista Audubon Nature Center
When: Friday, September 16, 10:00-11:30
Where: 2201 S. Coast Hwy in Oceanside
Who: Grades K-6
Cost: FREE - Sign up by Wed., Sept. 14
Come learn about "neighborhood animals" such as raccoons, oppossum, owls, hawks, and skunks. Enjoy a docent-led, walking-tour around the wetland habitat of Buena Vista Lagoon.

When: Friday, September 23, 10:00 Where: 704 Pier View Way Who: Grades K-12 Cost: FREE (donations accepted) Sign-up by Wed., Sept. 21 The Oceanside Museum of Art has many wonderful exhibits and is just minutes from PVCS. All students are invited to join us for a docent led tour of the museum. Note to high school students: this can be used to meet the museum visit requirement for the high school painting class!
