Heart Health
"Terms" Defined

Every one of these parameters is an essential indicator of cardiovascular health.
Cholesterol.
Triglycerides
Blood Glucose
Blood Pressure
An estimated one in three American adults currently suffers from one or more types of cardiovascular disease.
These include hypertension (elevated blood pressure), coronary heart disease, heart failure and stroke.

Our internal network of veins and arteries, controlled by the heart muscle and connecting every organ, serves as the pathway that supplies nutrients and oxygen to all of the body's tissues. But cardiovascular function involves a number of additional activities that influence our physical condition, immediately and in the long term.

Dear Subscriber,

One vitally important aspect of our physical well-being is the good working order of the cardiovascular system.

Yet high levels of cholesterol, elevated blood pressure and diabetes are among the most serious challenges to long-term health that confront us today.

Our lifestyle plays a very important role in our heart health and balancing lifestyles is our specialty.

Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a vital component of cell membranes and plays a key role in nervous system activity.

The proper level of this metabolite in the cardiovascular network is vital to good health.

Triglycerides

Triglycerides are derived from food and transported to fat cells.

Hormones regulate the release of triglycerides from fat tissue to provide energy, but just as with cholesterol, the quantity of triglycerides present in the bloodstream involves a precise balance.

Blood Glucose

Blood glucose supplies the main source of immediate energy to fuel almost every physiological function.

Its level should remain fairly constant. Sharp rises or spikes in blood glucose concentration should be minimized.

Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is a function of heart rate, fluid volume, resistance (constriction of dilation of blood vessels) and viscosity.

Blood pressure within a certain range allows for proper functioning of the system vessels, heart and other organs.
