 | Plans Underway for 11th Annual Spicket River Cleanup | The sites are selected and the volunteers are being recruited to partake in the annual cleanup of our Spicket River. We are particularly eager to hit the river bank this year because water levels are low -- meaning our impact will surely be great.
We hope you will join us on Saturday, September 22 at Manchester Street Park in Lawrence at 8am as we kick off the event. Bring your classroom full of teens, your neighbors, friends and family and enjoy some physical labor that will leave parks and riverbanks along the Spicket River Greenway spruced up for all to enjoy. If you have any questions about the event or if you would like to particpate, please contact Rosa.

 | Green Team Accepting Applications until September 21st for School Year Postions | The Green Team school year employment program offers part-time paid positions for high school students, from Lawrence, MA to help lead and learn about local environmental and health issues, conduct research, raise awareness, challenge their peers to do community service, and participate in hands-on improvement projects throughout the City of Lawrence.
Green Team members work about 20 hours per month during the school year through a combination of after school and weekend work. The program is intended to promote the protection and restoration of Lawrence's critical ecological systems, natural resources, and public health by engaging teens in advocacy and service-learning efforts focused on the community's parks, gardens, waterways, and vacant open spaces. The Green Team program has dual goals -prepare Lawrence's youth for a lifetime of environmental and healthy community leadership, and to invest in our community's future and capacity to improve its physical environment.
