Hello Friends and Family of Groundwork Lawrence!!

Welcome to our first eNewsletter!  Spring has sprung here in Lawrence and we are gearing up for many spring events! We'd like to keep you informed of what we're up to and invite everyone to participate.  We'd love to hear from you and welcome your suggestions for future seasonal newsletter editions.

  CSA Registrations Due April 30!   
  Based on our successful 2007 CSA Pilot Program
  we've expanded the length of the season and are
  now accepting registrations for 2008 shares. 
 
If you are not able to afford a CSA share, but would like to participate, please contact Rose at rgonzalez@groundworklawrence.org or 978-974-0770 about our subsidized shares and EBT payment options. 
 
When you submit your registration, please consider sending a donation to supplement low-income shares. 
 
Planting Trees  GreenStreets - Lawrence Tree Planting 
  If you live in Lawrence, we can help you plant a
  tree and beautify your front lawn and your
  neighborhood!  If you own your home and are
  interested in receiving a FREE tree, please contact
  Rose about the "GreenStreets" program.

 
EarthDay07  Earth Day 2008 Activities
  April 24, 10 - 4:  Join GWL, local youth and
  community partners in our annual city-wide
  beautification event.  We'll be ushering in the spring
  with park and alleyway cleanups. 
  April 23:  The Timberland Company will be coming to
  Lawrence again to build new community garden beds
  in South Lawrence.

Aside from the above, we've started seeds for the community gardens, had a great start to our Eat Right/Move More program with 5th and 6th graders at Movement City, are embarking on a Low-Impact Development Study for Lawrence's alleyways and we'll be hiring for our summer youth positions soon.  We hope you've enjoyed this eNewsletter and we look forward to a successful 2008!
