Ingredients for Successful Collaborations
 As I prepare this message, the NCDMM team is breathing a well-deserved sigh of relief and satisfaction after our Summit 2010 last week. The annual Summit is our premier forum for technology showcasing and industry/government/academia networking. Although there is value in technology awareness and opportunity identification that the Summit provides, it is our hope that Summit activities and networking discussions ultimately lead to business transactions and collaborative projects for Summit attendees, so I thought some discussion on collaboration might be timely. |

FRICTIONCOAT - Additive Friction Stir Technology
Schultz-Creehan LLC, an NDCMM Alliance Partner, develops products and processes to address complex materials science and industrial engineering problems in aerospace, defense, and other industrial markets. Schultz-Creehan is developing the FRICTIONCOAT process, an additive friction stir technology.

NCDMM Summit 2010 Highlights
The NCDMM recently hosted Summit 2010 at the Four Points by Sheraton in Greensburg, PA. This year's theme, "Transitioning Innovation in Manufacturing," was evident in many of the presentations and tabletop displays. Almost doubling in attendance from last year, Summit 2010 reached capacity again at the new venue with over 200 attendees from 150 companies traveling from 30 states. Throughout the day, 40 Alliance Partners, Manufacturing Consortium members, OEMs, associates and vendors provided tabletop displays of the latest technologies. Read More |
