The Importance of Training
 
Several of my previous messages touched on the trend that the average age of the U.S. manufacturing workforce is increasing.  Today the average age of our workforce stands at over 50 years of age and possibly as high as 53.  This is a concern for two reasons, a relatively near term loss of skilled labor to retirement, and ensuring our aging workforce is continually aware of the latest manufacturing technology.  Read more...

Survey For Small And Mid-sized Suppliers
NDIA MFG DivThe Manufacturing Division of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) is conducting a study focused on identifying factors that influence supplier involvement in the aerospace/defense industry and would like feedback from small and mid-sized suppliers. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and is completely voluntary.  All responses will be kept confidential and the survey will only reflect the aggregate data.  To participate, please visit the NDIA website at www.ndia.org, or click here.
