The Importance of Training
Several of my previous messages touched on the trend that the average age of the U.S. manufacturing workforce is increasing. Today the average age of our workforce stands at over 50 years of age and possibly as high as 53. This is a concern for two reasons, a relatively near term loss of skilled labor to retirement, and ensuring our aging workforce is continually aware of the latest manufacturing technology. NCDMM Supports Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard With Training Programs |
 NCDMM's Technology Training and Awareness Programs have now expanded as far west as Hawaii. Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY) provides regional maintenance, at the depot and intermediate levels, to keep the surface ships and submarines of the U.S. Navy operational in all respects. Survey For Small And Mid-sized Suppliers |
The Manufacturing Division of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) is conducting a study focused on identifying factors that influence supplier involvement in the aerospace/defense industry and would like feedback from small and mid-sized suppliers.
