A) STAFFING UPDATES

 

We are happy to provide you with the following staffing updates:

 

Marisa Modeski has recently returned from maternity leave.  Marisa is our Manager of National Recruitment.

 

Kristina Neilsen has returned to her role as Senior Liaison Officer.

 

William Waugh is our new Acting Liaison Officer, Recruitment Events.  William has worked in the Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment office at Ryerson University for 4 years.

B) NEW BACHELOR OF ARTS IN ENGLISH, FALL 2011
 

Ryerson University is excited to launch a new Bachelor Degree in English for Fall 2011.  This innovative program aims to balance theory and practice by teaching students ways in which literature and culture define and enhance our everyday lives.
 

The English program will join the Bachelor of Arts first year common platform with program including Criminal Justice, Politics and Governance, Psychology,  Sociology and the Undeclared Option.  New this year, the Geographic Analysis program will also join this platform.
 

The OUAC Code for English is SEN.

C) CHOOSE>RYERSON
 
Students can check their application status in the My Application Status and Documents section of their Choose>Ryerson portal page.  Documents and letters issued to students are viewable in their portal. 

Please note: Applicant Acknowledgment and Offer of Admission/Approval letters are the only communications that applicants are receiving by paper mail in addition to being posted on their Choose>Ryerson portal.  It is imperative that applicants check their My Application Status and Documents page and ensure they are checking their email.  The email address they listed on their OUAC application is the one that Ryerson uses for official communications.  

If students are indicating to you that they are not receiving Ryerson emails, please encourage students to check their spam filters and junkmail folder.

D) ADMISSION DECISION RELEASE DATES
 
The majority of admission decisions for current Ontario Secondary School applicants is between now and May 30, 2011.  Applicants are encouraged to review their Choose>Ryerson applicant portal on a regular basis.

E) GUARANTEED CONSIDERATION DATES
 
The guaranteed consideration dates for applications are February 1 for Grades-Plus programs and March 1 for Grades-Only programs.  All applications to a Ryerson program(s) submitted by these dates will be guaranteed equal consideration.  Ryerson continues to review all application choices equally, regardless of preference order on the OUAC application.

F) SCHOLARSHIP UPDATES
 
Ryerson is pleased to announce our 2011 Scholarship program.  We continue to offer two categories of General Entrance Scholarships that vary by Undergraduate program:

1) Guaranteed Renewable Scholarships
2) Competitive Scholarships

G) GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR DAY, FEBRUARY 25
 

Join us on Friday, February 25 for an opportunity to engage in professional development and to learn about the exciting developments at Ryerson. This event will feature the new cutting-edge Digital Media Zone and academic programs. Register online!

H) DISCOVER RYERSON DURING MARCH BREAK


 

Thursday, March 17 is a full day event designed to provide applicants, prospective students, and their families the opportunity to learn more about their chosen program and the Ryerson community.  Representatives from Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment, professors, current students and staff from student support services will all be available to answer questions.  Guests will have the chance to tour our campus, the residences and athletics facilities, and attend an information session with the program representative of their choice.

Registration is required.
 

If you are unable to join us for Discover Ryerson on March 17, please join us for a General Campus Tour, Monday, Tuesday,  Wednesday or Friday of March Break.  The tours will depart from the Ryerson Theatre after a brief presentation at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.  Register now.

I) BEYOND THE TOUR THURSDAYS


 

A group tour opportunity designed for Grade 10 and 11 classes.  Classes take a General Campus Tour followed by an interactive general information session about university. Group Registration is online
