Tips for Marketing Your Business While Away on Vacation
· Business Cards: Don't Leave Home Without Them.
You've heard it from me before and I'm saying it again: You never know where your business referrals are coming from. Have your business cards with you at all times and you'll be prepared to solve someone's problem on the spot.
· Do Some Research.
On the rainy day, or the day when everyone else goes shopping, you could use the time to visit a company that sells the same kind of product or offers the same services that you do. Observe their employees and customers and take mental note about how they are interacting and whether the customers seem happy or not. Introduce yourself to the owner or manager. Most small business owners love to commiserate. You may just come away with some new ideas for rejuvenating your business.
· Take Notes.
While you are relaxing, you may be inadvertently, subconsciously thinking about the business. This is when good ideas occur. Write them down now, or email or text them to yourself immediately. You'll never remember when you get back to work because you'll be too busy catching up from vacation. But the ideas won't be lost.
