Greetings!

Today is the officially the first day of summer. Half the year has past. You should be asking yourself: "What have I done about my marketing this year? What am I going to do to market my products and/or services for the rest of 2011? While you are vacationing and enjoying the summer, business goes on. This is the time for a little reflection and a little looking forward.

Taking Stock

This is a good time to review your marketing plan. What have you done to market your business or organization over the past six months? Has your marketing during the first half of the year produced the desired results? Have you managed to stick to your budget? What's working and what's not working for you?

Going Forward

If you haven't paid attention to your marketing this year, it's time to do so. If your current marketing methods have not produced the results you expected; it's probably time to make some changes. You should stick with the methods that have produced results, throw out the ones that have done little or nothing for you, and try some new ones.

What's Your Plan?

When you plan ahead, you'll have a better handle on your marketing and on your budget. In order to plan, you need to understand who your customers are, where they are, and why they buy. The best way to do this is to ask your current customers directly. Get as much information as you can: age, gender, location, married, single, kids or no kids, homeowner, etc. You get the picture. Try Constant Contact's Survey component.

What Can You Do Right Now?

  • Keep in touch with your customers through e-marketing. Try Constant Contact for free! (see link at left)
  • Grow your market through social media marketing.
  • Review and update your web site. A few simple wording changes, new photos, and updated links can go a long way toward keeping customers interested and improve your search engine results.

You Are Not Alone

In addition to my design services, I can assist you with writing your marketing plan, setting up your email marketing and survey, and guide you through using social media. Call 978.632.1571 or email me for an appointment.

So, enjoy your summer. But also, start thinking about taking action to grow your business and increase your sales.
