Survival of the Fittest . . .
Don't Disappear. When times are tough, one of the biggest mistakes you can make is to completely stop marketing and advertising. When you do that, you disappear and your competitors who are more visible become stronger. This is a good time to increase your marketing efforts to stand out from your competition.
Is Your Brand Memorable? It's more important now that your brand is recognizable and memorable. If you already have a strong logo, make it stronger by adding a tag line that speaks to your customers.
Put Your Customers to Work! Your current customers are your best sales people. Ask them to refer you to their family and friends. Thank them and reward them when they do.
Have a Plan.
The best way to ensure that you are reaching your customer where they are is to put together a marketing plan that you can refer to throughout the year and have budgeted for in advance.
Spend Wisely. You get a lot of calls from people selling advertising and marketing. Don't fall prey to every one of them. Look at your marketing plan. Is it in your budget? Is this a method that actually reaches your market?
If you don't fully understand what the caller is asking you to buy, don't know whether it is a good way to reach your customers, or have a hard time saying "No" to anything, call me. I can help you sort it out and decide whether it could be and effective marketing method. If it's something you need to say "No" to but can't, I can and will do it for you.
