September is "Tile Month" as far as the Handmade Tile Association is concerned. The Minnesota Tile Festival, National Tile Conference, Tile gallery shows at the Edina Art Center and Clay Squared to Infinity it just doesn't get bigger than that for us. This has been our best year for PR across the board. If you listen to Minnesota Public Radio pod casts or radio shows on the Internet you will hear our ad every time you click on the news. We also will be running ten radio ads on MPR on the Wednesday and Thursday before the MN Tile Festival. MPR is also a sponsor of the event and will be doing additional promotion for us.
Our partners this year are giving it all for us too. The Potters Council has been driving lots of traffic to the HTA website as well as print ads in Ceramics Monthly, Ceramic Industry and Pottery Illustrated. The Edina Art Center has been a huge component by being our conference site. They have gotten the word out in the newsletters, press releases and there wonderful facility. Tile Heritage Foundation has also been sending out lots of reminders and promoting to their members all the great opportunities that can be found in the Minnesota Tile scene. We will be mailing out 3200 postcards a week before the show with $1 off coupons attached. 10,000 postcards were printed and have been distributed, we are advertising on Facebook. We were listed in the SAMA newsletter, Twin Cities Bungalow Club, and the Star Tribune has contacted us for images to run an article on the festival. Thanks to all of you and everyone else for all the work you have done to make the Handmade Tile Association artists successful! You are the best.
