Greetings!
Deadlines is the name of the game for August. The MN Tile Festival deadline is August 15th and we only have two tables left. The Bloomington Art Center show for HTA members deadline is August 17th. The National Tile Conference "Handmade Tile and Mosaics" has only 29 spots left. It is an intense month and thank you for all of you that sent in work to the other juried tile shows at the Edina Art Center and Crossings in Zumbrota MN. We are going to have a great tile extravaganza that no one will want to miss.
August also marks the kick off to the 2010 HTA directory. Yes it comes up fast but we want to give you enough time to get ready. Please review your images of your projects of the year and new tiles you want to show the world. Has your worked developed with new images and concepts? Does your written copy reflect your business or art accurately? If not write an up to date wording about your work and or your business. Do you have a new product or service you should be telling people about? If so consider taking out an extra ad to promote what you do. Hint: promote one idea per ad. It cost more but you get the response you are looking for and make more money.
Lastly the National tile conference and MN Tile Festival is almost here and as tile efficianos it is so important that we utilize these two events to promote handmade tile and mosaics in all its glory. This is the crescendo of our year as tile artists, the media is writing about us, friends and family talk about tiles even total strangers want to talk tile. Make sure you can give them good information so they can learn and participate in all of our events about tiles and mosaics. Have you made links from your website to both events? Even if you can not attend them both events still effects your business. Make sure people know they can participate in all of the opportunities so they become life long fans. Update your website to direct people to the tile conference so they can register. Make sure you have MN Tile Festival postcards and HTA directories in your studio and at shows. Thanks to everyone for all you do to promote handmade tiles. I look forward to seeing so many of you at all the tile events.
