Greetings!
The Handmade Tile Association is in a period of transformation. Over the past 10 years we have grown from 12 members to over 130. In the next 2 or 4 years we expect to have over 200 members. We have gone from a three state regional group to members from all over the United States. We are about to host our 3rd national tile conference where thousands of people will be introduced to the HTA and its mission. This growth and attention has been a great exposure for our artists and advertising members but with growth comes challenges. The HTA was built on the concept volunteers not money and we would like to continue that. To give you a perspective our annual budget is around $20,000 a year. In organizational worlds most would consider this a stunningly small budget and amazing what we accomplish based on artists and members stepping up and building the organization with knowledge, sweat equity and creativity.
The HTA has made a
platform for tile and mosaic artists to communicate we hope you take
advantage of it by expanding the HTA presence with your contributions. Many of the members have been participating in our new trade program but we need more help. As we get closer to the national tile conference please continue to find ways to contribute to the conference and or organization. In most we cases we believe you will get a lot more out of volunteering than you put in by meeting other members and learning about PR. We need lots of logistics, people power and donations of material for the conference. We also need long term volunteers to help us with future programing. All of your help will intern showcase our greatest strengths of tile community building.
Things that HTA needs Three tents for the tile festival - If you have an extra tent to donate for the MN tile festival please contact the HTA Eight volunteers for the day of the tile festival Two volunteers for the night before the tile festival Tiles donated for tile conference workshops - acknowledgement during the tile conference will be given for your donations Data entry of new address - we have over 100 requests for directories we need to get entered in to make sure these interested parties get a MN Tile Festival postcard Mailing help in the office - send out postcards to artist and get HTA directories ready to send. Add to the Facebook and Link in pages with pictures and comments. The more we all interact with the broader audience the more we all inspire others to follow our achievements Pick up tile festival postcards and directories and hand them out all summer long Start thinking about how you can add content to the 2010 directory with articles and u tube videos Help with PR for 2010 and 2011 Join or start a committee to improve on projects you feel need to be accomplished. Consider joining the HTA board
Thanks for all your help in the past and your future considerations to make the HTA a success for the future. Please contact the office 612-781-6409 or e-mail the HTA
