thanks for making your voices heard
Greetings!

Thanks to everyone that participated in our Membership Survey.  We've summarized the results, and we will be making some changes to our processes, including: emailing our job announcements that are posted to our website and doing a better job of recognizing our members for their accomplishments.

We randomly selected two members who completed the survey to one of two Apple iPad's - CONGRATULATIONS to Marnie Wilking with Wells Fargo and Christine Monzon with Boeing!!!

I would also like to thank Patrick Potter and Christian Chelsey for their outstanding service to our organization.  Patrick was a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Membership Committee.  Christian served as a member of the Membership Committee.  Unfortunately, due to work and other organizational commitments, they have decided to resign from their positions.  We appreciate all of Patrick and Christian's volunteer efforts.

Thanks for helping us make this a great chapter.

Sincerely,

Adam Remis
President, ISACA Phoenix Chapter
October Chapter Meeting Recap

This past month we had the opportunity to learn from two great speakers.  Please be sure to view copies of their presentations on our website:

  • Lunch Session: Project Implementation Successes and Failures, by Anthony Samer, Managing Director, Protiviti - Anthony provided an excellent overview of high-value areas where audit can help improve project implementations and what high risk areas to look for.
  • Afternoon Session: Software Risk Assessment, by Erik Graham, Principal Information Security Engineer, General Dynamics - Erik was as engaging as ever as he reviewed what General Dynamics does to ensure that software (purchased and open source) is acceptable for his environment and provided great take aways for how other organizations can improve security by ensuring accepted software applications are used.
