Greetings!

The Phoenix Chapter received the 2009 Silver Level International Award for its website.  This award is in recognition of the design, content, and management of the chapter website.  We would like to thank Clayton Smith and David Williams who design and maintain our website.

The Oracle Security 2nd Quarter Training Event was a big success!  Participants met in the Wells Fargo Conference Center in downtown Phoenix on April 22nd and 23rd. Participants enjoyed the technical hands on Oracle Security training provided by Tanya Baccam, who once again provided sensational high value, low cost training for our chapter members!  A big thank you to her and to our friends, Loretta Forti and Tim Cox at Wells Fargo for making the event possible!

We also have three upcoming events.
  • Membership Appreciation Event - on May 19th, from 5:00 to 9:00pm, we will have our annual Membership Appreciation Event.  This will provide another opportunity for chapter members to network and enjoy some food, drinks, and lots of prizes.
  • May Chapter Meeting/Annual General Meeting - on May 27th, we will have our bi-monthly chapter meeting - more information to come soon.  The May meeting also serves as our Annual General Meeting where we will provide chapter reports and information.
  • ITIL v3 Foundations Course with Exam - on July 14, 15, and 16 we will be having the same training event held last July, which includes the ITIL exam.  Last July's class was a great success, and with a 25-person limit, there was a waiting list.  So we've decided to bring the training to our members again.

Regards,

ISACA Phoenix Chapter Student Membership
Thanks to Our Academic Advocate Professor Paul Steinbart
Did you know that the Phoenix Chapter has more student members than any other ISACA chapter in the world?  Most of this is due to the work of our ASU Academic Advocate - Professor Paul Steinbart (W.P. Carey School of Business - Department of Information Systems).  Professor Steinbart teaches multiple masters-level courses dealing with information security, and requires students to join ISACA in order to access COBIT and the IT Assurance Guide.  Thanks to Dr. Steinbart's efforts, the Phoenix Chapter enjoys an unparalleled student membership group:
