Welcome to the Factor10 April edition of "Martial Arts and You".
There are many exciting happenings at Factor10 at the moment with Instructor Training, Poomse Judge course, the Hanmadang and Easter Holiday Martial Arts program. As always we take a break for public holidays at Factor10, however we are open for the remainder of the school holidays. We are closed from Friday 6 April to Monday 9 April. For those traveling away for Easter, our team at Factor10 wish you a safe and happy Easter journey.

Taming Unhappy Children
 What do I do when I try to get my child started in Martial Arts and he is getting upset about trying something new? He said he does not want to do Martial Arts and started crying and getting really upset. He does this when starting new things and I am worried he will not be able to cope with challenges when he gets to school.Master O's email reply to a parent recently:
Thanks for the email and sorry to hear things worked out this way for you.
First up ... don't worry as this is very normal. We have many children starting their first sport who carry on like pork chops when getting started into sport. Over the past 30 years I have had children who come in and sit on the edge of the mats for 3 and 4 weeks before we could get them on the mats training. This is a sign that they lack self confidence and is the very reason their parents must keep trying to get them started. Read More... |
Factor10 Poomse Judge Seminar
This 2 hour seminar is a free seminar designed to prepare people to be able to complete their 1st, 2nd or 3rd class Factor10 Poomse Judge training program to be able to be a Poomse Judge or assist as an Official in the Poomse judging. Participants complete an OnLine training course first and then participate in the practical training that is this 2 hour seminar. Training is also done at this Seminar for Officials for other technical events including board breaking, tile breaking, high kick and fly side kick.
