At Factor10 we are constantly reviewing systems across all areas of operations. After a recent review of safety we noticed that most minor injuries occur as a result of accidental clashes while sparring. From 1 April arm, shin and mouth guards are required when sparring. Many students have this safety equipment however it is available for purchase at reception if required.
Martial Arts Bags
For the months of March and April members receive a 10% discount on safety equipment if purchased with a Factor10 Sports Bag. Back Packs, Junior Bags and Senior Bags are available now.

Factor 10 Health Tips How Many Meals?

Is Skipping Breakfast OK?
There is a short and a long answer to this question. The short answer is NO and the long answer is NO! There is no other way to put this, but I have heard many people argue away the scientific and practical reasons why they think breakfast is OK to skip.
I heard someone the other day saying that they had worked out that if they skipped brekky then this is one less intake of calories they have to worry about in their weight loss plan. Sorry .. does not work like that!
3 meals a day is a bare minimum for survival, but you will find it very hard to lose weight or maintain energy levels on this eating plan. 4 meals is better and may deliver you around 60% of your potential, and 5 or even 6 meals is right on the mark. It's because frequent meals:
1. speed up metabolism 2. help prevents binges and controls cravings 3. help maintain high energy levels by regulating blood sugar and insulin 4. promote muscle growth 5. help prevent muscle break down 6. promotes utilization of nutrients 7. reduces fat storage if the frequent meals are smaller 8. help you to feel energetic when exercising 9. help you to have a positive mood 10. help you to feel more energetic in the morning |

Factor10 Thinking Skills Your Next Goal
|
|

What's Your Plan?
In my intro to this E-News this week I reflected on the great events we have had at Factor10 this year so far and asked what you may be planing for after Easter. Our personal achievements are what really counts when it comes to our happiness - our feeling of being content with the way things are. Our success in the area of personal achievements set the pace
and standard for the next chapter in our book of personal achievements.
Personal achievements may be about our growth as a Martial Artist, the way we manage relationships, our successes at work and so on. The point here is that if we are not achieving in some way or another, we feel stagnant, unsuccessful, and kind of "rudderless" in terms of where we are going.
So what's your next goal? What pre-grade stripe are our Martial Arts
students focusing on next? What's the next grade to be achieved?
What's the technique you are working on to improve? What fitness level
are you trying to achieve or maintain?
These personal goals are the very things that keep life exciting - these
things are about you - and when "you" feel "you" are achieving personally,
wonderful things happen around you. Relationships seem happier both at
work and at home, the things that seemed to be impossible in your daily
challenges aren't so hard, and waking up in the morning is a whole lot
more exciting.
Make sure that the New Year isn't the only time we have these "resolutions" on achieving - we need to have checkpoints along the way when we reflect on what we would like to achieve and improve upon in different aspects of our life over the next few months.
What's your fitness goal now for the next 3 months? What's your nutrition goal? What's your relationships goal?
These are just a few areas that can really spice up your life. Have fun!
