Greetings!

You can see from the calendar that there are many happenings in March and April and our great team at Factor10 are working hard to make sure there are plenty of exciting social and Martial Arts activities to keep life fun.

You may have noticed that in our calendar there are "Staff Development Meetings".  Once a month our fantastic team gets together on a Saturday afternoon for 2 hours to talk about ways to improve Factor10 and to do instructor, technical or reception training in order to sharpen our skills.

We are always committed to make F10 even better so if you have any ideas feel free to email us.

I look forward to having fun with you this weekend at Wet n Wild if you can make it.  The Factor10 Yellow Jacket Tournament is just around the corner on Sat 27th from just after lunch at 1pm.  This represents a great opportunity for all members to have a great sparring experience.

Please remember that it is really impossible to develop as a  complete Martial Artist if you do not get higher level 1 on 1 sparring experiences that are semi contact.

Any mums and dads looking to assist at the tournament please email me back as there are plenty of jobs to go around on the day.  Children really enjoy seeing their mum or dad helping out and it is motivational for them in their sport.

Take it easy and have a great week.

Factor 10 Health Tips                                               Keep It Simple

This weeks Health Tips is about food once again however the focus here is the principle of keeping things simple.  It's so easy to make "eating well" more complex than it needs to be.  We hear of High Carbohydrate diets, Low Fat diets, High Protein diets, Detox diets, Milk Shake diets and the list goes on forever.

Here are some simple tips to follow - it's not rocket science - start with just implementing one of these and set yourself a goal to try to implement all 8 tips by the end of 2010.

And remember, this is about making great choices about every day foods.

1.    Eating only the calories that you burn
2.    Properly balancing your carb, protein and fat ratios
3.    Eating five or six meals per day, properly timed
4.    Eating lean proteins with every meal
5.    Eating the right types of carbohydrates and avoiding refined sugars
6.    Eating low fat and choosing the right types of fat
7.    Drinking plenty of water
8.    Eating natural, unrefined foods
9.    Daily Exercise
10.  Minimise Stress
Factor10 Thinking Skills                                     Thinking Differently

I read a great quote recently about something that Einstein once said:

"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them".

It's always time to reconsider the way we think about certain things and to find that there may be another point of view that will deliver better results, particularly if the problem is not going away with the same thinking you have been using all along.
