Greetings!

Well, the Ekka is here again so I guess we can expect some cool Westerly winds to blow in any time now! How fast the year has gone. Our plans for the year are now becoming a reality and more and more of our students are continuing to achieve their own personal goals. Well done!!

For those of you who have been sick and missed some classes don't forget that we have a make up policy which means that you can catch up on extra classes that you may have missed. Saturday morning classes can be excellent for this as we have one Fitness class, a Little Legend class, a Junior class and a Family Martial Arts class on every Saturday morning.

If you are heading to the Ekka this Sunday come along and support our Demo team which is performing live at 10.00am on the NOVA stage near the rides. I am also excited to announce that we have been invited to perform for a Corporate Function over at Tangalooma Island resort in a couple of weeks time in front of an International audience!

Our first ever Yellow Jacket Tournament is being held on
23 August and again I urge all Parents to encourage your children to participate in this fun day. As the head Instructor of our Academy I actually would expect that EVERY student participates in at least one of these tournaments on their journey to becoming a black belt.

Reminder- Public Holiday this Monday 10 August

A quick reminder that we are closed this Monday 10 August for the Ekka. We will however be open on Wednesday 12 August which is Brisbane Show Holiday.

Yellow Jacket Tournament- Sparring

Sparring Comp- Sunday 23rd August

Entries are already available and anyone interested in Refereeing or Corner Judging can see Mr or Mrs O and join in the Friday night practice.

Five other local clubs have been invited as well to add some variety.

Remember the winner of the Yellow Jacket in each of the main categories is the Person who demonstrates the best Martial Arts Spirit- not necessarily the person who wins!!!

We encourage absolutely everyone to give this a go and get involved in one way or another, as we need Coaches, Judges, Referees, Computer operators and Marshalls to run the event.

Let us know if you would be interested in Volunteering to be an official of some sort on the day.
