Core Values
I am so proud of the five core values our Academy stands for:
1. Martial Arts is a Life Journey 2. Always Persist 3. Have Fun 4 Family & Belonging is everything 5. Strive for Personal Excellence
Some of the proudest moments I have had have been when parents of our younger students come and tell me that they love their child being part of our Academy. They say it is like they have all of these older Brothers and Sisters! They tell me that the older students are such fantastic role models and they are so happy that their son or daughter wants to copy and be just like that person.
This is what Martial Arts is all about - when you or your children started Martial Arts with us you were not just starting Martial Arts but you were becoming part of our Martial Arts FAMILY.
Martial Arts is different to other sports and this is what makes us unique. We not only learn skills but we learn about persistence, confidence, discipline etc. and we learn this not only from the one instructor in front of the class but we learn it from all of the other members of our Martial Arts Family.
Our Parents Night Out, Disco's, Club Comps and any other function we have at the Academy relies on members of our Academy "Family"- offering to help and run the events. We all help each other just like a family does!
It is for this reason to that sometimes we have to talk to students about their behaviour or actions. We cannot have some students making it hard for others to learn or for the Instructor to teach. Usually we will give the students a warning about their behaviour and then if they continue they will be given some time out to reflect. If they return to class and continue with unacceptable behaviour they may be asked to leave the class for the rest of the lesson. We always try to avoid these situations and use many positive strategies first.
At Brisbane Taekwondo and Hapkido Academy our Family is one of exceptional people who will continue to work together and help each other become successful.

Parents Night Out
We had almost forty students attend the recent parents Night Out at the club. We ate as much Pizza as we could and then when we couldn't fit any more in we laid down and watched a very funny movie- Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Hopefully we will post some photos soon- courtesty of George
