Greetings!

It has been a number of weeks since the last newsletter, and wow have we been busy!

On the weekend of 24/25 May we had a team of about 26 students compete in the Tans Open. It is the biggest local competition that our tournament players attend with competitors there from New Zealand, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. A full list of results is included below.

The following weekend was our Technical Competition. The most excitiing part for me was seeing so many new faces doing there first ever competition and having a fantastic time participating.

That's not all, last weekend a team of 12 students from the demo team and their families travelled to Cairns to compete in the National Hapkido Championships. It was only a small competition as it is only new on the calendar, however our team performed extremely well taking out 2nd place in the Grand Demo section. A great time was had by all!!

Tonight I look forward to pre grading our next group of black belts and this weekend we have our demo team performing at the All Saints School fete and the Caboolture open competition on!

If you are feeling left out and haven't been involved in any of those events, we have our club disco coming up on Saturday 28 June- 1st weekend of school holidays.

Club Technical Comp Sunday 1 June

A great day was had by all at our 1st Technical competition for the year. We had approx 55 competitors ranging in age from 4yr to 50yrs. A big thank you to all of the volunteers who assisted with the competition on the day. It was great to see a number of new faces getting involved.

Refer a Friend Progam- your help needed!!

Refer a friend and go in the draw for a Push Bike or Ipod

We have been handing out tickets in class to students to pass on to friends who may be interested in starting Martial Arts with our Academy.

We are asking for your help with this as we continue to make sure our club is around for decades to come it is crucial that we continually have white belts entering in to our system.

Cairns National Hapkido Championships

Demo squad performance

Congratulations to our demo squad who performed in Cairns on the weekend. It was an awesome performance and what great experience for all involved- travelling away and then having to perform in front of a new audience.

All students under the age of 18 had a parent or parents travel with them so it was great to be able to spend some time with these parents and get to know them.
