Greetings!

Fiona and I have just returned from Sydney where we attended a Martial Arts Super Conference. It was motivational and comforting to know that we are on the right track to ensuring our Academy is around for decades to come. You will see some new programs coming on line in the coming months. Be ready!!

Unfortunately I returned with a serious head cold and have not been in at the Academy all week, but I love nothing more than hearing about the great work the students are doing in my absence.

You may be wondering what's with the new addition of the Factor10 logo on this newsleter and the website - well, at the Academy we are now proudly using and supporting Factor 10 teaching and administration systems. This is a range of especialy branded systems that have been developed in-house here at the Academy, by our staff, and aim to ensure things run smoother and more reliably for you. Go team!

There are so many exciting things happening over the weekend and in coming weeks, so have a great weekend, and...

Club Technical Comp Sunday 1 June

Club Technical Comp is on 1 June

Remember to keep Sunday morning 1 June free for our Club Technical comp. Application forms are being handed out in class so keep your eyes open for them. Events at the Technical comp include Poomse, High Kick, Fly Side Kick, Board Breaking and Tile Breaking.

All students are welcome no matter what age, or belt colour. Talk to the staff on reception or to your instructor if you are not sure of what events to enter.

Refer a Friend Progam- your help needed!!

Refer a friend and go in the draw for a Push Bike or Ipod

We have been handing out tickets in class to students to pass on to friends who may be interested in starting Martial Arts with our Academy.

We are asking for your help with this as we continue to make sure our club is around for decades to come it is crucial that we continually have white belts entering in to our system.

Tans Competition 24th-25th May

26 Students have entered

I am thinking we have set a new record for the club with 26 students set to compete at the Tans Competition on 24 & 25 May. The competition will be by far the biggest on the Queensland calendar with many interstate and International players confirmed. At this stage 401 players have entered the competition so it is going to be a very busy week end.

If our players have trained hard they will be confident of achieving some good results. I am sure they will all perform to their best of their ability and continue to make us proud of their skill and sportsmanship.

Stay tuned for the results in the next couple of weeks.
