Academy Weekly Fly Around
Thursday 7 February 2008
Welcome!!
Happy New Year and welcome back to Brisbane Taekwondo and Hapkido Academy.  We hope that you all have had a well earned rest over the Christmas break and are looking forward to an exciting and challenging 2008. Our family has had a very restful break (the rain did help slow us down) and we can't wait till we see everyone back at training.

It was exciting to see so many of our students already back in the last two weeks after Christmas.  Some just couldn't wait to get back and continue on their journey to Black belt.

Without doubt this year like all others will be full of excitement and challenges and will fly past before we know it. Whatever position you are in just remember to take time out for yourself and your family - take that two minute breather every now and then - a deep breath - and appreciate what is around you!!

Christmas Party and Awards Night 2007
 by Fiona O'Flaherty
It just gets Bigger and Better!!
Wow, what a great night we had at the annual Christmas Party and Trophy night.  We were well and truly sold out this year with over 250 Students, Parents, Grandparents, Friends, Aunties and Uncles all proudly watching the awesome displays put on by our students.

The Little Legends performed for the first time and were just fantastic and the Black Belts and Aussie Kickaroos continue to improve and impress with their outstanding displays of precision techniques and flipping and breaking routines.  We are sure there is no one else in Queensland performing routines like these.

Congratulations to all students that were nominated or won trophies- Great Work.

A big thank you to all who assisted with the organisation of the event and to
Mr Lloyd and Mr Andrews for their assistance.

Staff Changes- Mr Andrews heading Overseas
by Damien O'Flaherty
Mr Andrews going overseas
I would like to let everyone know that Mr Andrews has decided to take some time off and travel overseas.  I am sure everyone wishes Mr Andrews all the best in his travels and we thank him so much for the great work he has done teaching over the years.

I will be back assisting with the Juniors and taking some of the classes.  I can't wait to work with the Juniors this year.

I will also be taking the adult classes and look forward to helping everyone achieve their own personal goals for 2008 and beyond.

Vacation Program 2008
by Damien O'Flaherty
Vacation Program
Kiefer SplitKickApproximately 30 students attended the Vacation programs run on Thursday and Friday last week.  students ranged in age from 4yrs old through to teenagers.  Thanks to Instructors Jessica Meneguzzo and nathan Quigg the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves with many of them progressing on in their quest for Black belt by earning some more stripes whilst other students just enjoyed being able to play with their new friends they have made at the club.

If you missed out this time keep an eye on the calendar because we try and run them on each school holiday and also on Student Free days.

The Academy Calendar on the website details all events for the year to date.  Please go to the website and click on the Academy Calendar to get the latest.
