Greetings!

The city is buzzing now with so many holiday activities, it's truly a challenge to choose just a few items to tell you about. We could easily write a daily newsletter, rather than a monthly, and still have too much to cover. The good news is, if you are looking for something that we haven't mentioned, visit the New York Guest website or just give us a call.  We're here to be your best NYC resource for all your planning needs.

This Month We're Talking About...
The Heat...
What's Tasty...
NYG Profile...
VacancyThe Heat...
Historically, November and December have definitely NOT been the time of year to find excellent deals on hotel packages in New York City. But this year things are a little different. If you're thinking about coming to the city, but worried about your budget, give us a call. We are getting new deals every day that even we can't believe! Just a few noteworthy deals on our desk:

3-Star newly rennovated Chelsea Hotel:
$109 per night through 11/28, $169 in December (including New Years!)

3-Star brand new hotel in Midtown:
Starting at $199 per night

4-Star Lower Manhattan Hotel with amazing views:
Weekends starting at $199 per night

To book these and other fantastic rates, please call or email us for more information. At New York Guest we will always work with your budget and find you options unavailable anywhere else.

Also, don't forget about our great Holiday travel packages on our website!
Mon Petit CafeWhat's Tasty...
When we go out to eat, we prefer restaurants that have a certain "New York flavor"--  restaurants unique to the city where flavor, atmosphere and service mix for a perfect New York experience. The Upper East Side's Mon Petit Cafe, embodies all of these qualities. This Mom-and-Daughter owned and run restaurant combines a warm and inviting atmosphere with outstanding french cuisine. Thursdays are our favorite due to the weekly Cous Cous Royale special-- a Thursday night staple for years that keeps us coming back for more. You may even see us here on Thanksgiving day ordering from the special 3-course Thanksgiving menu featuring both traditional and classic French choices. Bon Appetit!

Contact New York Guest for dining reservations at Mon Petit Cafe, and other unique New York City restaurants.
Jana UrbanNYG Profile...
One of the newer members of our team is Jana Urban, a Trip Planner with New York Guest since January 2008.  Jana is one of the friendly voices you'll hear when you call us to help you with your travel and event planning. She'll make sure all the details are covered-- from your airport transportation to your theatre tickets... and everything in between!

A recent client of Jana's wrote:

Thank you Jana so much for all your help! We got home last night-- exhausted and thrilled about our NYC experience. We couldn't have done it without your help. The seats at Wicked were great, definitely the hightlight of our trip! You were a delight to work with and I will give your name to all my friends! See you next year.

And if you watch your TV closely, you just might catch a glimpse of Jana on the hit TV show Gossip Girl, where Jana frequently performs as an extra. If you'd like Jana to help you with your New York City planning, feel free to call her at 1-866-406-5341 or e-mail JUrban@newyorkguest.com.
NYG News...
As we mentioned above, November and December are a great time to come to New York City; there is so much to see and do. Taking an abbreviated page from David Letterman, here is the top-5 list of favorite things I am planning to do in the coming weeks:

5. Visiting the newly refurbished Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum
4. Ice-skating & hot chocolate in Central Park
3. Seeing the ever more creative holiday department store windows
2. Going to the annual Holiday Train Show at the NY Botanical Garden
1. Four Words: Radio City Christmas Spectacular (An annual tradition!)

Enjoy the best that this season has to offer!

Best Regards,

John

NYC TRIVIA
October's Question:
How did Coney Island get its name?

The Dutch settlers called it "Konijn Eiland", or Rabbit Island.  This is just one of several places  in New York with Dutch inspired names that still exist today.

November Question:
What will happen to the Rockefeller Christmas Tree after the holidays?
