COOL WEATHER... yes, fall is finally here.  The air conditioning can go silent and all of nature gets a welcome beautiful break before winter set in.  Celebrate this season with us at the Garden Center/Farm Outlet Saturday, October 20th with fun and fantastic savings.

Prepare for Winter!
 

Ok, Old Man Winter is coming soon.  There are a few things we need to do to prepare our yards so he doesn't wipe outHose Pic everything we've worked so hard for.  This is a list of a few suggestions of things you may want to look at getting done sometime within the Month of october:

 

  • Winterize your irrigation system - Drain or blow out all the water in your system to avoid breaks from freeze damage.  If you haven't winterized your system you can click here for a list of things you can do to protect your system.  Also unconnect your hoses from water spickets.  Don't put your hoses away though.  You'll need them now and throughout the Winter so you can water trees and shrubs in weeks where there's no moisture.
  • You might think about sheltering any containerized outdoor plants in an unheated garage or covered porch for the Winter.  Just don't forget to keep the soil moist over the Winter.  The soil can dry up quickly in these areas.

    Thursday!Patrol

    October's Third Thursday for Charity event is just around the corner--October 18, 4pm to 7 pm, in the Courtyard at Rosehill Gardens.  Join us for delicious hors d'ouvres and libations  courtesy of our neighbor, Martin City Brewing Company. Colorful fall mums and pansies will be on sale during the event. In addition, we'll be featuring some very special deals on tropicals and succulents. October Third Thursday sales will benefit the Kansas City Mounted Patrol.
