Greetings!
Here are 10 tips to make sure your're ready for Spring to start:
- Apply fertilizer & crabgrass pre-emergent to turf.
- Clean up beds: pull weeds, remove leaves & debris from beds.
- Install cool weather early Spring annuals (pansies).
- Water plants/trees & shrubs-plants still need water even in cooler weather.
- Deep root feed/fertilize evergreens.
- Install mulch to control weeds & conserve water.
- Check shrubs for winter damage-prune back to healthy green growth. Prune maples & birch after bud break. Prune flowering trees & shrubs after flowers fade. Sheer Boxwood.
- Apply bed pre-emergent to prevent weeds in beds.
- Cut back grasses, daylilies, roses + any existing perennials.
- Get soil test in beds and turf to help anticipate and prevent deficiencies in soil nutrition before Spring starts.
