| It's a bit strange to start talking about Christmas in July...but since every one of you reading this are so musically inclined...July conversation it is!
For the past few years Tierre Verde's Island Chapel has presented Holiday Performances that have warmed many hearts. This year's "Joy, Joy, Joy" featuring the "Island Singers" and the "Second Winds" stands to be the best one yet! Pastor (and Rounder) Mike Wetzel is certain of it!
The Island Singers is made up of, well, singers from throughout Pinellas County Churches (last year 17 of them); plus "good voices" from the community at large. We are asking all Rounders who have ever sung in a school or church choir...or who even sing well in the shower (sorry, little water at rehearsal) to join us this year for "Joy, Joy, Joy."
The two performances will be on December 19th at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Palladium in downtown St. Pete.
We are looking to stage well over 100-voices...and need your membership toward accomplishing that goal. Our own Bill Findeison will conduct!
Want to join us? Call the chapel office at 727-866-7362 anytime Monday through Thursday. Register with the secretary and reserve your music and CD.

Music books and voice-part CD's will be available for pickup next week at the Island Chapel on Tierre Verde (telephone above) We provide these early so you have time to learn your part by seeing the music and hearing the dominant voice part. It is expected that you come to the first practice with a reasonable understanding of your part. This saves lots of rehearsal time.
The cost for the music book and CD is $10.00 and due at the time you pick up your music. Checks are payable to the Island Chapel.
The rehearsal dates are as follows: November 1st, (Tuesday), and every Tuesday thereafter leading up to the performance on December 19th. Practice starts promptly at 7:00 p.m. and is over at 9:00 p.m.
The Second Winds are also performing again this year and will join you for three selections, "Lead On, O King Eternal", an audience sing-a-long, and finish with "The Hallelujah Chorus".
Rounders...we want to "hear" your presence. Come sing along! |
