EV News: Toyota, Duke Pilot Smart Charging; GE Links Chargers to PayPal
Toyota is participating in a pilot project in central Indiana with utility Duke Energy and the nonprofit Project Plug-IN initiative, collaborating on technology standards to align vehicles, charging stations and the power grid. Electric vehicle owners will now be able to use a PayPal account to pay for electricity at charging stations made by GE.

BMW announced the upcoming launch of a mobile parking solution in San Francisco that will add to the company's first car-sharing service also launched in the city in June. ParkNow, which will be available to drivers beginning in September, enables users to pay for parking in advance, with guaranteed access and clearly defined rates, based on their personal preferences.
