U.S. Food Waste Estimated at $165 Billion Per Year
There has been a 50% jump in U.S. food waste since the 1970s, such that Americans now throw away 40% of the food purchased, according to a new analysis by the Natural Resources Defense Council. A new NRDC report outlines opportunities to reduce wasted food and money on the farm, in the grocery store and at home.
